James Strzelinski – co-writer/producer/director, PAUL
James has done just about anything one can imagine in film – with a diverse background that includes everything from making cheap commercials that play at 3 AM on your local UHF station, to pitching the major studios in Hollywood. He honed his on-set skills as an undergrad at Columbia College Chicago. Later, he developed his deep understanding of storytelling – receiving an MFA in Screenwriting from Columbia University in New York. Along the way he has lived in NYC, Chicago, and LA, while working with everyone from avant-garde artists, to corporate clients, to Oscar and Emmy winning producers. Throughout it all he has been guided by a DIY ethic and drive to get to the core of the human character.
Todd Frugia – co-writer/producer/director
Todd bears no allegiance to a single medium. While getting his undergraduate degree in theatre, he worked in television production. He discovered the world of performance art while pursuing an MFA in Acting at Ohio University. And now in Chicago he produces performance and video installations with his wife and partner at Rooms, their art gallery – all while producing, writing, and directing commercials & corporate video. Todd is a big believer in using restrictions (budget, casting, location, etc) as a guide. Sometimes it’s reverse engineering – but it usually leads to more original work.
Chuck Przybyl – director of photography
Chuck is a Chicago-based visual artist with an extensive background that spans still photography, videography, motion graphics, and live video mixing. Chuck is a member of the Chicago Art Department, and a fixture in the city’s underground art scene. His style is characterized by texture and a unique perspective of details – to find images that are extraordinary in the everyday. Chuck also teaches photography at Harold Washington College. His art and clientele have taken him across the globe.
Veronica Bruce – ALEXIS
Veronica graduated with a BFA in Acting and then set off from Texas to New York City. After two years of acting, stage managing, and (naturally) waiting tables, she changed course and headed to Chicago. In the Windy City, she added another skill to her repertoire, as she found an opportunity to get involved in commercial production. Experienced both on-camera and behind the scenes, Veronica continues to aspire toward her dream – acting in everything from commercials to gallery installations, producing, and auditioning a hell of a lot.
